It helps to have an Italian cousin in the pasta business too!  Vince Liberatore runs one of Toronto’s most established and oldest food companies – Continental Noodles Pastaio which has been owned and operated by the Liberatore family over 50 years.  “This event is about the customers, family, friends and table”, says Mr. Liberatore.  Benny and I decided to do this today because we both have a love for what we do. On January 28, 2012  the Alzheimer Society of Toronto is asking Torontonians to participate in the 22^nd annual Manulife Walk for Memories. Participate in a fundraising walk in January? Hard to imagine during Toronto’s winter – except this is a 45-minute indoor walk through the underground PATH system in downtown Toronto, beginning and ending at Brookfield Place.

The goal is to raise $600,000 so the Society can continue to provide counselling, education and information to individuals and families in Toronto living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The funds raised will also help to provide more education sessions to raise public awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, continuation of dementia care training courses for frontline healthcare workers, as well as fund research to find the cause and cure.
