Ermal Meta is one of the most interesting singers and songwriters in the Italian and Albanian contemporary music scene, besides being a very talented author and a tv personality thanks to his participation in “Amici” talent shows as a contest judge.

His music combines steady dance beats, upbeat pop melodies, and smooth, swooning vocals.

Meta was born in Fier - Albania in 1981 and moved with his family to Bari - Italy when he was 13.  He debuted as a guitarist of Italian band Ameba4, which competed in the Newcomers' section of the Sanremo Music Festival 2006 with the song "Rido... forse mi sbaglio," included in their self-titled album, which was released in February 2006.

Ermal then joined “La Fame di Camilla” in 2007, serving as the band's lead singer and songwriter.  Their debut album, simply titled La Fame di Camilla, was released by Universal Music in 2009.  The band later released the albums Buio e luce, including the title-track which competed in the Newcomers' section of the Sanremo Music Festival 2010, and L'attesa (2012).  The band split in 2013.  During his time with this band he also wrote songs for Patty Pravo, Marco Mengoni, Chiara, Annalisa, Lorenzo Fragola and many other Italian artists,

He embarked on a solo career in 2013 and appeared as a featured artist on Patty Pravo's single "Non mi interessa."  In 2014, he contributed the soundtrack of Italian television series Braccialetti rossi, performing the song "Tutto si muove."  In 2016, he competed in the 66th Sanremo Music Festival, performing the song "Odio le favole," which placed third in the Newcomers' section.  "Odio le favole" was included in his debut solo album, Umano.  His 2017 follow-up, “Vietato Morire,” reached number one on Billboard's Italian International chart and placed third in the overall competition of the Sanremo Music Festival 2017.  “Vietato Morire” also won the “Mia Martini” Critics award in the same festival.  The album also includes a duet with Italian singer-songwriter Elisa.  And in March 2017, Meta was chosen as a judge on the 16th series of Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi.

After a successful summer tour across Italy/Europe, Ermal Meta will be touring USA and Canada starting November 2017.
