Kalàscima featuring Andrea Ramolo is an exciting international collaboration of world music in the Italian language featuring internationally renowned southern Italian electronic/folk band Kalàscima and multiple Canadian Folk Music Award nominee and alternative songwriter Andrea Ramolo.

The musical collaboration  and their studio album The South served as the soundtrack for Ramolo’s award-winning music documentary by the same name starring the band.
Starting in the summer of 2023, they headlined Vancouver Folk Music Festival, played Calgary Folk Festival, Mariposa Folk Festival, Northern Lights Festival, Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Ness Creek Music Festival, and more together. 

2024, they added Summerfolk Festival, Peterborough Folk Festival, Italfest in Montreal, and a Ferragosto event in Toronto to their long list of renowned Canadian plays, among others. 2024 also followed the release of their newest collaborative single.  Through The Rain, produced by drummer and producer Michele D’Elia.

The track has had heavy rotation on CHIN Radio. Their joint show was created with the intention of introducing audiences to the ancestral and folk music of southern Italy... but with a twist.
Kalàscima blends Italian hip hop, folk, rock, traditional, and other Mediterranean sounds with electronic music. With Andrea's soulful voice and connection to the traditional music and dance of southern Italy, this project promises to get crowds jumping and dancing in a Mediterranean style trance.

Goat-skin hand drums, Italian bagpipes, accordion, Bouzouki,, multiple harmonies, drums, synth, and electronic sounds as well as the soul and passion of southern Italy is returning to Canada once again this summer!
